2018 Farm Bill Passed

The 2018 Farm Bill Passed... Here’s What It Means For CBD

In December, President Donald Trump signed the 2018 Farm Bill into law. Spearheaded by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and supported by both sides of the aisle, the bill covers a wide range of agricultural policy. One piece of the bill stands out as a significant milestone to supporters of cannabis, hemp, and CBD.

Effective January 1, the cultivation, processing, and selling of hemp and hemp-derived products are now legal. This means farmers can grow it in all 50 states. Processors can extract oils and make other products. Raw materials and hemp products can be bought.

What this means for CBD

CBD product manufacturers, like HealthNaturally, can now buy raw materials across state lines. We can sell CBD products to customers in other states, along as the products fall under the federal guidelines -the CBD must be derived from hemp and contain less than 0.3% THC. Our products here at HealthNaturally always comply with this guideline. We and other CBD companies can better leverage banks and credit card processors without additional hindrance.

For the public, this will likely mean a huge explosion in the availability and prominence of CBD products on the market. It’s great for the consumer, because as more companies move in to compete, they’ll be competing on price and quality — which ultimately results in a better product at the best value. We would like to point out though, that with this insurgence of new CBD products, we HIGHLY recommend consumers study the ingredients to make sure they are not only getting the best price, but receiving the best ingredients as well. It is important to make sure the CBD in the product is Full Spectrum, not isolate and be sure to take into account the extraction methods of these brands. Any reputable brand will be able to provide consumers with COAs (Certificate of Analysis) of their products, like we do here at HealthNaturally, to ensure CBD is in fact in our products. Other ingredients are also very important to study when deciding on a brand to use. HealthNaturally only uses all-natural ingredients and our products do not contain any parabens, fillers or fragrances, but natural essential oils and organic Carrier oils instead. So even though a brand is at a better price, you really want to make sure your product is the highest quality possibly, which is our motto here at HealthNaturally.

Perhaps best of all, you can now possess CBD and travel with it (within all 50 states). In fact, hemp is no longer under the jurisdiction of the Justice Department. It now falls under the USDA and will be a lightly regulated crop. This is great news for anyone who uses CBD for its many health benefits. And now, as the federal red tape has been cut, more people will learn about it and benefit from this amazing cannabinoid.
